I never knew what my problem was before but changing the start/stop time to the 30 seconds you want was the key. Otherwise it won't add to your phone. Have to remember to remove that when you are done too. Also ACC is the default import but I had changed mine to mp3 in Edit/Preferences General tab, Import Settings button. Had to change that first.
